A celebration of creativity, optimism, and big-picture thinking.

Overview

The Existential Hope Meme Prize invites creators from all corners of the internet to submit their most inspiring, uplifting, and forward-looking memes or short-form media.

Our goal is to spark hope and excitement about humanity’s future—especially when it comes to overcoming existential risks, envisioning positive trajectories for civilization, and highlighting the innovations that could get us there. The best meme wins a $10,000 prize.

Guidelines

Format

  • Meme images/GIFs
  • Short videos (under 2 minutes)
  • Short written formats (e.g., tweet threads, infographics)

Theme

Submissions must highlight a hopeful future or a big-picture concept (for example: existential risks and how we might overcome them, future tech solutions, global cooperation, positive visions of humanity, etc.).

One entry or multiple

You can submit multiple pieces, but please fill out a separate entry form for each.

Rules

  1. Original work: Submissions must be your own. If you include work by others, you must have permission to use it.
  2. No paid promotion: Submissions should spread organically, not through paid advertising.
  3. Multiple entries: You may submit more than one entry, but each must be registered separately.
  4. Public accessibility: Posts must be public so judges can view them.
  5. Ownership & usage: You keep ownership. By entering, you grant us permission to feature your submission (with credit) in contest-related promotion.
  6. Who can enter: Anyone aged 18+ (or younger with parental/guardian permission). Individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide are welcome.
  7. Deadline: November 23, 2025 (11:59 PM local time).

Criteria

Judges will consider:

  1. Clarity & appeal: Is it engaging and easy to understand?
  2. Optimism & accuracy: Does it present a hopeful (and possible) vision?
  3. Creativity & shareability: Is it original, memorable, and likely to spark discussion?
  4. Virality potential: Does it have the potential to spread widely, regardless of follower count?
